Hello,

My name is Kyle and I am a UK based artist who specialises in painting & illustration. I have a degree in Illustration with Animation and currently work as a freelance visual artist.

In my spare time I enjoy watching movies with friends, listening to music, travelling, taking photographs, playing football, running and cycling.

My work

My work combines my passion for art, technology and story telling. I trained as a traditional oil painter and consider my main strengths to be the manipulation of colour, light and form to create striking images for storyboards, character designs and conceptual artwork.

I have a fine attention to detail, a strong work ethic, love what I do and thrive on the constant challenge to learn and improve as an artist.

Tools I use

I work from day to day on an Apple Mac Pro with the a Wacom Cintiq 21 UX and an Intuos 5 graphics tablet. I use a range of software including the Adobe Creative Suite, Autodesk Maya and Apple's Final Cut Studio.

When away from my Mac I use a combination of my sketchbook, SLR, iPhone and iPad to develop my ideas. On my iPad I use a number of art apps including Brushes, SketchBook Pro, ArtRage and Adobe Ideas.

Achievements

In 2010, a selection of my paintings created using an iPad were featured in newspapers and technology websites across the world. On YouTube the videos showing how I created these paintings have received over 2 million views and the portrait I painted of Beyoncé was spotted and featured on her Official Website.

In 2011, I was the featured Artist at Macworld Expo 2011 in San Francisco, where I was invited to deliver a talk about digital artwork and give live demonstrations. My artwork was also featured in a number of product announcements including Adobe’s Touch App announcement, Apple’s iCloud Launch and Apple's Year of iPad video, which was presented onstage at Steve Jobs' iPad 2 announcement event San Francisco.

FAQ

Are prints available of your work?

Currently I don't offer prints of any of the artwork featured on my website. Many of the paintings are fan art and simply demonstrations of my technique.

Can I commission you to produce a painting from a photograph?

Due to my current work load, I am unable to take on any private commissions. If you do have a project that you would like to discuss with me, you can contact me here.
